Twas just weeks before Christmas, no tree in the house, no one was in the mood, not even the mouse.
When out in the driveway, there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my couch to see what was the matter.

The family was gathering, "Let's go!!!" said with glee, "We need Christmas spirit!  Let's go to Hartke!"
I sprang from my couch, to the gang gave a whistle, and away we all flew ... bought the finches some thistle.

Got some homemade cider and cookies to boot!  Heard some great Christmas music.  What fun!  What a hoot!
The trees how they glistened!  A Fraser, how merry!  A White Pine, a Balsam, some wreaths with berries!

A poinsettia for the hostess, some roping for the door, a bow for the mailbox and so much more!
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head, "We found our tree!  The best ever!" we said.

Then I heard them exclaim, as we drove, tree in towing, "Merry Christmas to all, and to all..................GOOD GROWING!!"
